Welcome to Grace & Reason — Honest questions. Clear answers. Christ-centered love.
If you’re new to Christianity, unsure what you believe, or just trying to figure out who Jesus is, you’re in the right place. This page is a simple path you can follow at your own pace—no pressure, no shame.
Step 1: Start with Jesus
Christianity is not mainly about rules, church culture, or trying harder. It’s about a Person—Jesus Christ.
The Bible says:
“In the beginning was the Word… and the Word was God.” (John 1:1)
“And the Word was made flesh…” (John 1:14)
“I am the way, the truth, and the life…” (John 14:6)
Start reading here:
✅ Read John chapters 1–3 (KJV) and ask: Who is Jesus? What is He calling me to believe?
Step 2: Understand the problem (sin)
God is holy, and we are not. The Bible is plain:
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
“For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23)
Sin isn’t only “big crimes.” It’s a heart problem—living our way instead of God’s way.
Step 3: Hear the good news (the gospel)
Here’s the gospel in plain words:
God loves you. Jesus died for your sins. Jesus rose again. Salvation is a gift received by faith.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
“Christ died for our sins… was buried… and… rose again…” (1 Corinthians 15:3–4)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works…” (Ephesians 2:8–9)
Step 4: Respond to Christ
The Bible calls us to repent (turn to God) and believe (trust Jesus).
“Repent ye, and believe the gospel.” (Mark 1:15)
“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved…” (Acts 16:31)
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
A Prayer for Salvation
Saying words doesn’t save you—Jesus saves you. But if you truly believe and you’re ready to turn to Him, you can pray like this:
Lord Jesus Christ,
I know that I am a sinner, and I cannot save myself.
I believe You died on the cross for my sins and rose again from the dead.
I turn from my sin and I turn to You.
Please forgive me, save me by Your grace, and be Lord of my life.
I am trusting You alone—Jesus Christ—for salvation.
Amen.
If you prayed that sincerely, you don’t have to wonder if God heard you. He promised:
“Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
Step 5: What to do next
1) Read the Bible (KJV)
Start here:
John 1–3
John 14–21
Romans 3–6
2) Pray honestly every day
Simple is fine: thank God, confess sin, ask for help, pray for others.
3) Connect with a Bible-believing church
Christianity is meant to be lived with other believers. (Hebrews 10:25)
4) Be baptized
Baptism doesn’t save you—it’s an act of obedience that follows faith. (Matthew 28:19–20)
Not ready yet? That’s okay.
You can still take the next step without pretending.
Read John 1–3
